Barbados swam away with 18 Gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze medals at the just concluded XXXI Carifta Swimming Championships in Lamentin, Martinique.
Along with the impressive medal haul the Barbados swimmers also set four CARIFTA records and seven age-group National Records in the process.
Danielle Titus, swimming in the Girls 13-14 age group, won four individual gold medals and three silvers. She also picked up one silver in the relays and three bronze medals.
It was in the backstroke that she shone the brightest as she set a new National and CARIFTA record in the 200m and 100m.
Joining her in the record-breaking act over the weekend was McCallum Clarke who competed in the 11-12 age group. He won five individual gold medals and three bronze, as well as picking up one gold and two bronze in the relays.

Though not setting any records, Alex Sobers won three individual gold medals in the 100m, 200m and 400m freestyles.
The other three national records came when Hannah Gill broke the 15-17 200m freestyle with her bronze medal performance; and the 15-17 4x100m freestyle relay team and 4x100m medley relay teams which included Jack Kirby, Alex Sobers, Damon St. Prix and Luis Sebastian Weekes.
