When the ripples settled in the 50 M pool at the Aquatic Centre signaling the end of another celebration of the Carifta Swimming Championships all that was left to do was to celebrate the fine achievements of the participating delegations. Team Guadeloupe rose to the top with an overall score of 736.50 points 57 more than the 2nd placed Trinidad & Tobago Team. While Barbados was placed 5th with a one point difference from the Jamaican score of 561 its dominance of the gold medal table was apparent with 21 gold-7 golds ahead of rival Martinique and 9 golds more than the overall winning team Guadeloupe.
A further analysis also revealed that Barbados received the highest scores in the 13-14 division with 310 points. With 168 points the 11-12 division contributed the 2nd highest point score for Barbados and the 15-17 age group 68 points placing this division in 8th position overall.
