Meet Summons

Aquatic Centre, Wildey, Barbados

INTRODUCTION:

The Barbados Amateur Swimming Association (BASA) in association with the Organising Committee of The Latin American & Caribbean (LATYCAR) Masters Swimming is proud to host Barbados Super 7, LATYCAR 2003.  The BASA and LATYCAR extend a warm welcome to the masters swimming clubs in the Americas, Mexico and the Caribbean to participate in a great and extraordinary event for the Masters Swimming family to be held in Barbados at The Aquatic Centre from August 31 to September 6 2003.  LATYCAR 2003 will be transformed into a spectacular celebration of Swimming, Open Water Swimming and Water Polo, which we hope will be simply incredible.

This will be the second LATYCAR event hosted in Barbados at the Aquatic Centre following the much-acclaimed 1995 event which attracted over 800 competitors from 51 clubs.

OBJECTIVES:

The Masters programme shall promote fitness, friendship, understanding and competition through Swimming, Diving, Synchronised Swimming, Water Polo and Open Water Swimming among those competitors with a minimum age limit of 25 years.  (FINA Handbook 2002-2005). LATYCAR 2003 meets the mission of educating, developing, furthering and promoting Masters aquatic sports in new areas of our region: LATYCAR leaves an example to the younger aquanauts about friendship, empathy and personal warmth with new found aquatic rivals. This is an excellent opportunity to exchange new experiences and knowledge. On this occasion, all Barbadian nationals competing will be LATYCAR’s hosts.
